What is Support at Home?

Support at Home is the new Australian Government aged care program replacing the Home Care Package (HCP). It provides funded support so older Australians can stay independent in their own homes for longer.

Section 04 · Application journey

From application to service start — typically 7–10 months

Six transparent steps from registering with My Aged Care to your service roster going live — Top1Care walks the whole journey with you.

  1. Apply

    Day 1

    Top1Care assists you to register with My Aged Care and submit the assessment request.

  2. Information check

    ~ 2 weeks

    My Aged Care calls to verify your details and refers you to an assessment provider.

  3. Home assessment

    4–6 weeks

    The assessment provider books a time and conducts the in-home assessment.

  4. Result

    Within 2 weeks

    Result becomes available online and a letter is mailed to your home.

  5. Wait for funding

    7–10 months

    My Aged Care releases funding through the National Priority System.

  6. Service start

    Once activation code arrives

    Once your activation code arrives and the service agreement is signed, Top 1 Care designs a personalised Care Plan around your needs, then our professional team begins service rostering.
